My Goals for 2022

Well, not quite.  But we only have a few more days left of 2021, which is absolutely crazy!!  I’m excited for 2022, but this year feels like it was the fastest yet.

Towards the end of every year, I like to set goals for the new year, so that’s what I’ll be doing today!

I like to keep it simple because I’ve found that having too many goals for the year can be super overwhelming, so I usually keep my goals very similar to the year before.

If you want to learn more about goal-setting, I wrote a post all about my entire process and the best tips I have!

Without further ado, let’s set my goals for 2022!

my goals for 2022

  1. Run 2 half-marathons.
  2. Run a full marathon.
  3. Run 21 miles on my birthday.
  4. Improve my previous best golf score.
  5. Read 12 non-school books.
  6. Donate to 12 organizations.
  7. Grow my blog and social media.
  8. Pay off my old car and get rid of it!
  9. Start working toward my health coaching certification.

Along with these specific goals, I have some things that I want to do more of, some ideas that I want to truly embody this year.

I want to do more things that scare me – trying new things, saying “yes” more than “no,” and just getting out of my comfort zone.

I want to work on being more present and intentional.  I’ve realized over the last couple months that I often become overwhelmed and stressed when I’m putting too much mental energy into thinking about the future or the past.  But when I really aim to be present in the moment, I feel much less anxious.

I also want to get better at putting myself first and not caring what others think about me.  Too often, I overthink my decisions because I don’t want to negatively affect anyone else or their perception of me, but what good comes out of that?  Nothing!  Of course, it’s great to consider other peoples’ feelings, but they should never come before your own.  I like to think of this old quote: As long as you’re happy, who cares?

These are my goals and intentions for the new year!  I can’t believe it’s already time to start thinking about these new goals… 2021 was a blur!

I hope you all are feeling refreshed, motivated, and ready for 2022!
