Easy Snack Ideas

easy, nutritious snack ideas

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE snacks!!  I’m always looking for a new snack idea – whether sweet, savory, pre-packaged or fresh… I am always excited for snack time. (; Here are some of my recent favorites as well as some staples that I’ve been eating for years.  Hope you enjoy! (:

easy, nutritious snacks

apple/banana slices + peanut butter

Spread the peanut butter on the banana and/or apple slices and top with some granola and/or chocolate chips for some extra texture and flavor!

kodiak cake cups

These little mug cakes/muffins are so yummy!  There are SO many flavors, and you can find them online and in Walmart!  Super easy to make, very yummy, and really convenient. (:

popchips

These are a super yummy packaged snack that you can pick up at most grocery stores!  I can eat an entire bag in one day; they are THAT good!  Best flavor: white cheddar. (;

chips + dip

One of my favorite snacks OF ALL TIME!  Definitely one of my most popular go-tos… grab some tortilla chips (or any other kind you like) + dip them in salsa, guac, queso… whatever you want!

protein balls

The first time I made these was last summer and they were a HIT!  Mix your favorite protein powder, milk/milk substitute, peanut butter, and some honey until the consistency of the “batter” is sticky enough to form into balls.  Refrigerate for an hour or so, and then they’re ready to eat!  Such a quick and easy snack. (:

popcorn

I love adding white cheddar seasoning on a big bowl of popcorn, but if you’re craving something sweeter, chocolate-covered popcorn is AMAZING!!  Microwave some chocolate (I recommend white chocolate) in a bowl and drizzle over the popcorn; feel free to add chocolate chips, sprinkles, and other yummy toppings! (:  The picture below shows a big bowl of white chocolate-covered popcorn that Nick and I made many years ago; we topped it with sprinkles and added a candle (I think for his birthday?).

trail mix

Personally, my favorite is the Kirkland Signature mountain trail mix, but it can also be fun to make your own!  Mix some of your favorite bite-sized snacks all together (Goldfish, Cheez-Its, nuts, chocolate chips, M&Ms, Reese’s Pieces, raisins/Craisins, etc.) and enjoy!
