6 Free At-Home Workouts You Need to Try
don’t feel like making a trip to the gym?
No worries! Don’t get me wrong – I love heading to the gym to get a good workout in, but sometimes that’s just not an option. In those instances, I love to pull up one of many free at-home workouts on my phone or laptop and get workin’!
However, it can be hard to find quality workouts that you can easily do from home – with or without equipment readily available. It took me quite a bit of trial and error to find at-home workouts that I actually enjoyed, so I wanted to share those with you.
6 free at-home workouts you need to try
Nike Training Club
This app is totally free and comes with a TON of great workouts. There’s yoga, stretching, strength, and more! And you can search for workouts by type, area of body you want to work, and even by the amount of equipment you have available.
There are also programs that you can join if you don’t want to have to choose what workout to do each day. These programs are extremely flexible and not very time-consuming; in fact, I think most of the workouts are anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes long, a few times a week.
Workouts can either be time-based or rep-based, AND you can decide whether or not you want the recording of how to do the exercises on or off. PLUS, you can play your own music on a different app while doing the workout!
If you want even more content from this app, there is a premium version you can pay for, but the free version has so much to offer.
Nike Run Club
If you’re looking for a running app that motivates and encourages you daily, this is it!
This app is also 100% free, and you can track runs, go on guided runs, and so much more! Guided runs can include a recording coaching you through a workout, a mindfulness expert helping you relax on your run, and everything in between!
It’s super easy to use, and you can listen to your own music just like you can on Nike Training Club.
MadFit
This YouTube channel has SO MANY awesome workouts that are great for everyone!
There are workouts with no equipment and workouts with some simple equipment, but they can all be done at home! If you live in an apartment or are staying in a hotel, there are even apartment-friendly workouts. There’s also knee-friendly workouts, yoga and flexibility videos, and so much more.
I’ve done a lot of the core workout videos (as well as some arm and legs ones, too), and they BURN. These at-home workouts will definitely have you working up a sweat.
Social media workouts
Another one of my favorites is social media workouts!
You can find lots of great ideas and inspiration from people on Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok. In fact, one of my favorite Instagram workout accounts is @oliviaostrom_! She has TONS of workout posts, so go check those out! (You will need some weights for these workouts.)
FitOn
This app is AMAZING.
There are so many different types of workouts to choose from on this app, and they’re all taught by great trainers. Yoga, pilates, weight-training, bodyweight… you name it!
Make-your-own!
One of my favorite ways to get a great at-home workout in is by making my own!
I like to keep a list of my favorite strength-training exercises so I can pull it out at the gym and choose what I want to do that day. If you need some inspiration or are just unsure of what exercises to add to your list, I’ll share mine below!
If you try out any of these free at-home workouts, I’d love to know how it goes! There’s nothing more important than taking care of yourself, and these resources are a great way to get started in doing just that. ((:
Love this, I definitely need to workout more!! These apps should help with that!! Thanks for sharing!
